Do-Over
I have started the lace, and in fact, stopped somewhere near round 31 and proceeded with the ruffle. I have since botched up part of the ruffle and I think I will frog it and try again. I have also decided that I like the skirt with more lace, so now I am going to try and figure out where I stopped and pick it up. This may mean frogging the whole thing, but I hope not. Of course, I didn't write anything down- that would be too easy!

Good luck. It looks great so far. While I understand people's desire to have more stockinette knitting to cover *um* parts... having a sizeable amount of lace is really nice!
It should be easy to figure out where you stopped knitting lace. Just count the number of eyelet holes in a single vertical line and double it. So if you have 16 eyelet holes, then you've completed 32 rows of lace. Your next row should start with Rnd 33. Make sense?
Thank you for the encouragement and for the tip. I tried the counting eyelet holes trick and was able to figure out what row I was on. I always have trouble picking up yarn-overs when I rip back. I went back one more row and was off and running. Thank you again.
Glad to hear that my tip worked for you! Can't wait to see your finished skirt.
